Pixie Spirit Fest 0.5 🧚
After more than two months of preparation, April 24th finally marked the day of Pixie Spirit Fest 0.5, the filming day for our promotional video 🎥
Our goal was to turn it into a mini event, so we quickly started calling it the “0.5 edition”: a little preview of what’s yet to come.
Behind the scenes, we invited around 60 extras, and two vendors even offered to help by setting up their stands during the day. How incredibly awesome is that? We can honestly say it was an amazing day. In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes of both the preparations and the event day itself.
The Preparations
Because our promotional video was meant to become the aftermovie of Pixie Spirit Fest 0.5, it was essential that some of the key elements of our festival would also appear in the video. For example, a wishing well will play an important role during Pixie Spirit Fest on April 17th & 18th, 2027.
So of course, we suddenly had to build a wishing well for the promo video in a very short amount of time 😅
Together with our Pixie decoration team, we managed to build a beautiful wishing well during a few long, but incredibly fun, crafting days. Besides that, we also created the rock formations 🪨 for the children’s mini Highland Games and our very first Pixie shadows.

Thank You Gifts for the Extras,
Besides all the props around the festival grounds, we of course also wanted to create some fun thank-you gifts for our extras, the camera crew, and the rest of the team.
We decided to make little goodie bags as a lasting memory of the day, filled with some tasty snacks and drinks, the brand-new Pixie Spirit Fest wristband, and a voucher for the Pixie Spirit Pin that will be available during next year’s event.
And of course… these bags also came with a funny Pixie blooper. Well… “funny” 😅 Opinions on that may differ 🙈
The Pixie team made these bags ourselves for all the extras. But when the vinyl for the print arrived, we realized we had accidentally ordered the wrong shade of yellow 🤯 A color that unfortunately didn’t look very nice on the canvas bags we had chosen.
Since returning it wasn’t really an option, we decided to dye the bags light purple instead.
And honestly… that actually fit the whole idea behind the 0.5 edition perfectly: colors that are half a shade lighter than what you’ll see during the real event next year.
At Pixie headquarters, we have a large dyeing tub that normally makes it easy to dye bigger batches of fabric. But because it was already late in the evening and using the washing machine seemed much faster, we decided to dye the bags in two batches in the washing machine…
Yep… you can probably already guess where this is going 😅

What we hadn’t taken into account, however, was that the bags came out of the washing machine as one giant tangled lump, something that definitely wouldn’t have happened if we had dyed them by hand 🙈
The result? That “time-saving” washing machine ended up giving us roughly seven hours of ironing work instead 🤣
A perfect reminder that rushing things rarely ends well 🥴🙈
But honestly, despite everything, the bags turned out absolutely adorable in the end 😁
The Promo Day Has Arrived,
Our alarms ⏰ went off nice and early that morning, because we had to be at the venue by 9:00 AM to welcome the film crew. After taking a walk around the grounds together, we were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast.
Our vendors, Mead Me and Nozdormu flow, had also arrived early to set up their stands.
Around 11:00 AM, we expected all of our extras to arrive. And wow… it was such a special moment to watch our mini-event slowly come to life. Seeing everyone arrive and later watching the grounds filled with energy, laughter, and coziness truly felt magical.
Despite all the rushing around, organizing, and last-minute preparations, our team took several moments throughout the day to simply pause, look around, and enjoy everything that was happening around us.
At around 1:00 PM, we arranged lunch for everyone, and once all the hungry bellies were filled again, it was time for the performance by The Flying Elephants. What an incredible atmosphere they brought with them!
And later that evening, when almost everyone had already gone home, we were treated to a beautiful fire show 🔥 by Nozdormu Flow

In short: Pixie Spirit Fest 0.5 was an incredible success, and we cannot wait to officially open our doors next year on April 17th & 18th, 2027, and welcome everyone to our magical celebration 🧚
