How Pixie Spirit Started.
Do you know that feeling from fantasy festivals, where you're surrounded by like-minded people? The understanding from others who get what you're talking about and the tips you receive when, for example, you're stuck in a costume. This sense of camaraderie is something we often miss in our daily lives. We notice that our environment thinks what we do and create is fantastic, but they don't quite understand it. You shouldn't expect tips about costumes, new festivals, or stores where you can buy something specific. No matter how well you get along, you're often not completely on the same page.
Our hearts always leap with happiness when we meet someone from the fantasy community in the wild. It's always a celebration of recognition and mutual understanding. Last year, we walked the Nijmegen Four Days Marches, and only afterwards did we realize that quite a few people from this community also participated in the Walk of the World. All invisible, blending into the crowd just like us.
This inspired us to dedicate ourselves more to the fantasy community and to give it more visibility on the street and in everyday life.
The Pixie Spirit flag and wristband.
Many people, just like us, were surprised to discover how many fantasy lovers had participated in the Nijmegen Four Days Marches. That’s why we at Pixie Spirit decided to register as a fantasy community for the Flag Parade of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches. For this, we designed our own Pixie Spirit flag. The goal? To show people from our wonderful community: "We are everywhere." We have already written a blog about this flag parade, which you can read here.
However, the flag parade only happens once a year. So, we looked for a way to help community members recognize each other on the street. That’s how we came up with the 🧚🏻Pixie Spirit Fantasy Wristband🧚🏻.
A wristband that reflects our love for fantasy, is fun to wear, and can be easily recognized by fellow fantasy enthusiasts.
Trinket tradings
In addition to organizing Pixie Spirit Fest, we are passionate festival-goers and always enjoy participating in trinket trading. Besides the trinket trading, we also like to give a small gift to a random passerby who looks nice, for example. That’s why we decided to have 200 Pixie Spirit Fantasy wristbands made and add them to our trinkets.
It’s really fun to see how enthusiastically these wristbands are received and how proudly they are worn. At the time of writing, the first 100 wristbands have already been given away 😱 We did not expect this success at all.
